Come discuss the benefits of teaching math in industry contexts. Classroom examples from architectural, civil, and mechanical engineering applying Pre-Calculus topics will be demonstrated to equip you to better prepare your students for careers.
Students from Wake Technical CC and Forsyth Tech CC will enlighten us on several issues about taking math at a community college. Their comments could affect the way you teach!
We will facilitate a discussion on transitioning from 16 week classes to 8 week classes. We hope to hear best practices/lessons learned from colleges who have made the transition as well as generate ideas from everyone. Topics will include: formats, course structure, assignments, and weights.
